A Partnership Between the Two Will Make a Second Attempt to Establish a Tribal Casino Resort in Southern Wisconsin

In the U.S. state of Wisconsin, the Menominee Indian Tribe has made an announcement that it has signed a deal that will see it once again work with Hard Rock International in the hopes of being granted permission to bring a tribal casino resort to the city of Kenosha. This news comes after the Menominee Indian Tribe announced that it had signed the deal.

The Hard Rock-branded ‘destination entertainment center and casino‘ is going to be built on a 60-acre parcel of land that is going to be located on the west side of the city that has approximately 100,000 people living in it, according to an official press release that was issued by the federally-recognized tribe on Wednesday. The release details that the two parties are going to now seek approval to build and run the casino. The organization, which has approximately 9,000 members, further indicated that it aims to own the proposed arena in Kenosha County as well as any facilities associated to it, with Hard Rock International serving as the developer and operator of the site.

Explanation in terms of the economy:

The Chairman of the Menominee Indian Tribe, Ronald Corn, stated in a press release that the revived effort is all a part of a campaign to provide his tribe with ‘the essential resources for its ongoing and expanding demands.’ This statement was made by Ronald Corn. In addition, the chief noted that his community “is ranked as one of the largest tribes in Wisconsin,” despite the fact that it consistently “racks up some of the highest rates of poverty and lowest scores for health outcomes of any location in the state.”

Earlier endeavor:

The Menominee Indian Tribe already operates the Menominee Casino Resort close to the small city of Shawano in northern Wisconsin. In 2013, the Menominee Indian Tribe formed a partnership with Hard Rock International as part of a plan to bring a $800 million gambling-friendly development to the site of a former Kenosha dog racing track. The Menominee Indian Tribe hopes to bring the development to the site of the Kenosha dog racing track. However, approximately two years later, when Scott Walker was the Governor of Wisconsin, he decided to scrap this initiative due to allegations that it may eventually result in the state’s population of approximately 5.9 million people losing tax income worth up to $100 million yearly.

A remark from Corn was as follows…

“The projected project will not be as large as it was initially envisioned to be; but, it will still produce jobs and be considerable.” It will continue to operate under the Hard Rock name and will be a tremendous asset to the neighborhood, the community at large, the regional economy, and the state.

Extended duration of the program:

As part of this strategy, a subsidiary of Hard Rock International reached an agreement last week that would see it pay a total of one hundred thousand dollars in order to get an option on the potential location of the Kenosha casino resort. The Menominee Indian Tribe will now be required to get the off-reservation plot placed into trust by the federal government before seeking the required gubernatorial support, which is a process that recently took its compatriot the Wisconsin Winnebago Tribe a decade to accomplish. As a result, it is still possible that it will be many years before a building is actually opened on the land.

Positivity in one’s partner:

In spite of this, the Chief Operating Officer for Hard Rock International, Jon Lucas (who is pictured), maintains a positive outlook. Lucas used the press release to express his hope that a Kenosha venue will soon become part of his company’s already substantial portfolio, which includes more than a dozen casino resorts located across the United States and Canada. The well-known operator, which is an enterprise of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and is recognized by the federal government, is in charge of properties such as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Biloxi. They have also recently signed a deal to bring the $1 billion Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Athens development to Greece.

A statement from Lucas may be read as follows…

“Hard Rock International is delighted to help the Menominee Indian Tribe in its ongoing efforts to provide a world-class gaming and entertainment resort to the city of Kenosha.” “Hard Rock International has a long-standing connection with the Menominee Indian Tribe and is proud to support it.”
