FIFA World Cup 2010One thing that you wouldn’t want between June 11th to 11th of July is a broken aerial or satellie dish.

2010’s highly anticipated FIFA World Cup is now only a foot away. 32 Countries will battle it out within the confines of 10 stadiums between Polokwane and Cape Town. The remarkable Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth Stadium (one of five newly built) along the shores of North End Lake is testament to South Africa’s continuing dedication as it prepares to host one of the greatest shows on earth!

Curzon Wimbledon
The Curzon cinema in Wimbledon will be screening ‘Football Fables’ on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June. This investigative documentary questions what it takes for an African player to make the transition to a top European club. On Saturday, the screening will be followed by Argentina vs Nigeria. On Sunday, the screening will be preceded by Ghana vs Serbia.

The Big Chill House
Watch the World Cup matches surrounded by the brass and drums of  the Heritage Orchestra Brass section blasting out the theme tunes of Rocky, or The Great Escape. The bars boasts big screens indoors and out, The Big Chill House will show all the knockout games. The bar menu includes a handy selection of house-made burgers, chips, pizzas and platters. The Snug, an area of the bar with a capacity of 100 is available for hire with a big screen.

Rich Mix
Join the Afro Cup Festival at Rich Mix and watch all football matches then party afterwards to the sounds of live African music and the beats of the best London Afrocentric DJ’s. (Russ Jones, AfriKokoa, Dudu Sarr, DJ Magrelo, Afrogroov.) There will also be films, an art exhibition, African food and street art. All the events are free and matches will be shown on a 15x10ft screen. For those wanting more privacy, private tables and private screenings in the cinema are available for hire.

Vibe Bar
The Vibe Bar in Brick lane is one of East End’s longest running, and best loved drinking dens. It is a perfect destination to sip on an ice-cold bevy and enjoy quality football on the big screen. The Vibe Bar’s reputation for having customers from all parts of the world makes it an ideal spot to experience the cultural diversities that the FIFA World Cup creates.

FIFA World Cup 2010Guanabara
Brazilian bar Guanabara kick off their World Cup festivities with a big launch party on Thursday 10 June with Minibloco playing a raucous set of samba batucada with special hip hop guest Mystro. DJ’s T & D. Vyzor will spin cool Brazilian house and party beats. The rest of the screenings will be just as lively. All Brazil and England matches will be screened as well as all the big matches in between. To give the bar that extra stadium vibe, vendors will be in the venue with cold beer and Brazilian street food!

Everyman Cinema
Trade the rowdy and crammed pubs for comfy sofas at Everyman Cinema and enjoy the World Cup with their Beer and Burger packages. The pack includes 1 Windhoek beer (or soft drink) and a choice of beef, cheese, chicken or mushroom burgers at half time. Everyman Cinema will show every England Game as well as Brazil vs Ivory Coast, Australia vs Serbia, a selection of other hot fixtures and the World Cup Final itself.

The Meat & Wine Co
As well as enjoying the tournament in this South African owned eatery guests will be able to feast on the restaurants signture fare such as fillet of springbok and boerwors sausages. To wash this down there are a selection of South African beverages like Savanna cider and Castle lager.
Special food and drink promotions will run for the duration of the tournament.
